What temperature counts as a frost?
Ground frost can form when the air is around 3 to 4 °C, because the ground cools faster than the air. Air frost is 0 °C or below, and a hard frost is roughly -2 °C or colder.
When should I protect tender plants?
Cover or move tender plants and pots before dusk on any night forecast near or below freezing. Frost is worst on clear, calm nights.
